What this page does
Each link opens the named colors for one hue, such as shades of black, shades of red, or shades of green. A color can appear under more than one hue. Every name is shown with spaces, such as Indian Red, and a copied name keeps those spaces. A row marked CSS is a color that CSS also names. A row marked Common is a usual color name. Paste the hex to use the color in a stylesheet. Aqua and cyan are one sRGB color. Fuchsia and magenta are one sRGB color. The grey spelling is the same color as gray. Hex, RGB, and HSL describe that sRGB color. OKLCH is the same color converted. OK is the name of the space, not a fifth component.
How to use this page
- Open a hue, such as shades of black, shades of red, or shades of green.
- Click the name, hex, RGB, HSL, or OKLCH value to copy it. The name copies as shown, with spaces. Paste the hex to use the color in CSS.
Questions
Is a common name a CSS keyword?
No. The Source column says Common. Those names are usual labels from color libraries. The hex is the value to paste.
Why do two names share a hex?
Some CSS keywords are aliases. Aqua and cyan are one color. Fuchsia and magenta are one color. Seven gray names also accept the grey spelling, and both spellings are listed.
